Customer Reviews:

A good alternative to Bose QC-24
I bought the Koss QZ900 headphones, after a lot of research, as a lower cost alternative to the Bose QC-2 headphones. I’ve had a chance to compare them to both the QC-2 and QC-3. No question, the Bose QC-2 (over the ear) headphones have the edge. However, I did not care for the QC-3 (on the ear) headphones. On a recent trip across the Atlantic, the airline I was on distributed the Bose QC-3 headphones for use during the flight. I tried the Bose QC-3s, put them up, and used my Koss QZ900 headphones instead.

The Koss headphones sound nearly as good, and have nearly as good noise cancellation as the Bose QC-2. They are light, compact, use a AA battery, and have a volume control on the removable cord. The one negative about the product is that the carrying case is larger (thicker) than it has to be.

If money is no object, go with the Bose QC-2s. If you can’t justify the $270 for heaphones, the Koss QZ900s are a good choice.

Good Value5
I did a lot of research on various noise canceling headphones and landed on the QZ900 for the following reasons: Over ear design, in-line volume control, price, previous experience with Koss headphones.

I agree with one of the other reviewers this product is capable of producing a lot of bass which I believe is a good thing. The bass is of good sound quality and clarity. One can easily adjust the EQ settings on their device to their preferred bass level. On the contrary if a headphone is not capable of producing bass, it doesn’t matter how you set the EQ, you will never get good bass response. All my previous Koss products have had rich bass and I was hoping this product would follow suite and it did – I can’t say the same for the Bose products I own (hit or miss).

The overall sound quality is exceptional, both in active and passive modes!

The product does a decent job of sound canceling. It is by no means sound proof. On the plane it lowers the sound level of the engines and background noises and allows one to go off into their own space without all the distractions.

The quality of build is sufficient and representative of the purchase price. I don’t expect the headphones will last forever, but they should provide a couple good years of service for the frequent traveler.

Average — nothing special3
Just got these the other day, and already have a few observations.

Pros:
- Like that they work with and without the noise cancellation feature
- Appear to be good quality, nice package and good case

Cons:
- Convenient battery placement, but over time you can already tell there will be problems with ear pad on right side (where battery is) will become loose and non-operational.
- Too much base. I like base, and most headphones are weak with base, but these have too much (it’s over powering).
