A Video Converter Has Numerous Uses

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 19 septembre 2010

Mod is a really uncommon video format; we can find it on the popular camcorder, such as JVC, Canon and Panasonic. There is another format TOD. MOD and TOD are informal names of tapeless video formats recorded by camcorders.

We use camcorder records children’s commencement; party; and every moment we want to remember. They were recorded into a tape which formats are MOD or TOD. Then when we want to play them on our computers as we want, we have to find out the tape, open the tape player, and god bless the tape won’t broken as the time gone.

The easy method to backup and play MOD and TOD video formats is convert them into normal video formats. Such as AVI, MPEG, WMV etc. As the development of the video converter, you can also convert them into mp4 format which iPod, iPhone, Zune were supported.

As I know, Video converters do have this function, but not all the video converter can convert MOD format, and a vendor named Aiseesoft produced a MOD video converter. It totally works on this. MOD Video Converter helps you convert MOD, TOD to the video formats you can use everywhere.

Ok, let’s talk some differences between MOD video converter and normal video converter. MOD video converter’s point is converting MOD and TOD. And, it does some video editing thing. It is a video joiner and cutter. We can cut out the video clip we like, and join them together as we want. Here we go, the movie produced by ourselves. Backup video is good habit in case of the missing and broken of the tape or disk. Talk this, I highly recommended you backup your DVD disk with a DVD ripper and video converter.

iPod Touch

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 13 septembre 2010

It looks like an iPhone, it smells like an iPhone but its not. It’s actually an iPod, but without the iconic click wheel that many of us have associated with the iPod, arguably the best portable multimedia player that has been launched, its worldwide sales can easily backup that claim. The Apple iPod Touch MB528 with an 8 GB flash memory included in the second generation iPod Touch that was released in September 2009 may be regarded as the less talented kin of the Apple iPhone but is certainly the big brother of the iPod stable both literally and figuratively.

While its first run of the iPod Touch did not meet the usual hoopla that most Apple products get, the second generation has finally received its shining moment courtesy of hardware improvements, software developments, more features, and a price cut.

The Apple iPod Touch MB528 can easily be mistaken for an iPhone, some subtle design differences are there, and luckily, these changes have made it for the better. With the second gen Touch, you will now find on its left edge a slender switch for the volume for easier access to volume control. Another noticeable change in the Apple iPod Touch MB528 is that its back, steel chromed and has a rounded design, which provides the unit a slimmer profile when viewed on its edges, a feature that’s the same as the iPhone 3G. Over all, the faint design changes the Apple iPod Touch MB528 received has made it look sturdier and classier than its previous model. But aside from all this, it’s relatively the same in looks for the uninformed and has the same size. It retains its dimensions of 4.3 x 2.4 x.31 inches. It still sports a 3.5 inch screen and the headphone jack, home and sleep button, and dock connector can still be found in the same location.

The Apple iPod Touch MB528 thankfully has been loaded with lots of features not seen in the first edition of the Touch. While this particular model has the lowest memory, 8 GB, as compared to its stable mates, 16 GB and 32 GB, it’s still a tad pricier than other models of the iPod, like the Nano and the Classic. But, then again, counting the features and versatility it provides as compared to the other models, this price difference will seem quite worth it, not to mention the fact that there is virtually thousands of applications which you can install.

What made the Apple iPod Touch MB528 rise from the ashes left behind by its predecessor is its ability to be able to download a plethora of applications. This is because of the version 4.0 firmware, shared by the iPod Touch and iPhone. All the features mentioned above are just the stock, they can be easily upgraded to something more sophisticated and even have apps that can seem incredulous to be used in an MP3 player. Just by going to the iTunes App Store, you will gain access to numerous applications and be able to download them, and while some have a minimal fee required for purchase, there are also numerous others that are free to download. And as a matter of fact, the supply of applications never seems to run out as each day it seems that a new one is released.

And while it may seem that the possibilities may never end for the Apple iPod Touch MB528, it also has its downside. Its built-in speakers are simply not up to par, others also say that the audio quality is only average. And more importantly, for those that are looking for a simple to use MP3 player, then this one is not for you.

Apple Revises App Store Approval Process

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 11 septembre 2010

Apple's somewhat byzantine (and certainly inconsistent) review process for the App Store has long been a thorn in the side of developers. Today, though, Apple announced a couple of improvements to that process.

First off, the company is now allowing third-party development tools for the iOS. Previously only Apple's development tools were allowed. This will let developers use whatever development environment they prefer to create iOS apps.

Secondly, Apple also promised to publish the App Store Review Guidelines to give developers a better understanding of how their apps get evaluated. This is a valuable step, but it's also crucial that the guidelines be enforced consistently.

UPDATE: Daring Fireball has a good analysis of the changes and what they mean, if you're interested.

In other Apple news that's caught my eye over the past few days:

Despite earlier statements from Apple that the new iPod touch includes a vibration feature, it doesn't.
Game Center works on the 2nd generation iPod touch, but leaves iPhone 3G owners out in the cold.
Those longer song samples at the iTunes Store that were rumored about a week ago? Delayed due to licensing issues, apparently.

PowerPoint to DVD Creator

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 9 septembre 2010

Instead of buying expensive copying software, free DVD burning software is a good alternative. If you are looking to create images and burn them, there are some good free options available. This type of freeware can be used to create an mp3 play list, free up space on your hard drive, and many other tasks. There are quite a few free DVD burning software applications available on the internet, however, they are not going to be as comprehensive as Nero or Roxio. If you need all-in-one freeware that can handle all your burning needs, you are probably going to need more than one application to complete tasks.

You can use free DVD copying software to burn data DVDs for free and ImgBurn is the answer. ImgBurn is a comprehensive free DVD burning software that works great. This software is one of the best free programs available for creating data DVDs for free on any version of Windows. ImgBurn is geared towards building disk images and then burning those images onto a disk. This software can handle CD, DVD, blu-ray and hd-DVD. ImgBurn works by reading existing disk images, creating disk images, and then burning files directly to a disk. It also verifies your disks so you avoid losing any data during the burning process.

If you want to make disks that will work on a regular DVD player, you will need to use separate software since freeware such as ImgBurn cannot complete this step. The solution is to use a free application called SoThink Movie DVD Maker. You can use this program to create the file structure ready for burning to DVD from any movie. When the files are ready to be burned to a DVD, you can use ImgBurn to create the disk. If you are looking to create DVD menus, or the ability to create a DVD that can play in a PlayStation 3 system, you will have to use additional software with more advanced features.

When you are looking for free DVD burning software, you will obviously want to find something as versatile as possible.

Overboard vs Aquapac in iPhone 4 water torture test – Amazing Case [give away]

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 8 septembre 2010

If you had to trust a water-proof case to protect your precious iPhone 4 during a torture test, which would it be — the Overboard or the Aquapac? That’s the challenge they gave me for the latest episode of TiPb’s Amazing Case, our hardcore, case vs case tests of strength, durability, and performance.

We figure if either — or both — of these water cases could survive being thrown into the deep end and taken through the high-pressure car wash then they can survive a dip in the tub or day at the beach.

Follow on after the jump for the details, and the give-away!

Aquapac vs Overboard

Truth be told these two cases are very similar. Both are clear plastic that retains the capacitive touch so you can keep using your iPhones while they’re inside. (At least when you’re out of the water — no capacitive touch can work when you’re under water). This means you can still make calls, record video, check the web, etc. with ease.

The Overboard has a black outer lining that does conceal part of the iPhone which I found kind of annoying. The Aquapac is clear all the way around allowing you to be able to see the whole screen of the iPhone and use the camera without having to worry about the view being obstructed.

Both the Overboard and the Aquapac have hard plastic seals that close tightly and securely. They do allow a small amount of water to get caught in the closure though, so you need to open the cases with caution or you risk dripping water on your iPhones. And yes, both cases are equally hard to get iPhones into and out of.

Lanyards are included with both the Overboard and the Aquapac so you can hold onto them or tie them to something to make sure you don’t lose them in the water.

Fight! (and give-away)

So which water proof case was the most protective? No spoilers! You have to watch the video above for the results of our Overboard vs Aquapac ultimate iPad scratch test.

When you’re done leave me a reply in the comments below and tell me which one you’d rather have protecting your iPhone 4 — Overboard or Aquapac — and where exactly you want to take you iPhone 4 that it needs water protection.

We have a one of each to give away, so make sure you leave a valid email address so we can contact you if you win. (US mailing address required for delivery).

Ready? Fight!

How to view private and blocked videos on YouTube

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 2 septembre 2010

View Blocked Videos

The world’s most famous video hosting site Youtube provides the publisher while uploading a video, with an option of limiting the video to users from specific countries.

Meaning, you might be staying in India or US but may not be able to view every video on Youtube, that’s because the publisher of the video has allowed access only to specific geographic regions.

For instance companies like Warner Music Group’s videos are not available to users from United States.

The general message that Youtube displays when a user tries to view content from outside the allowed countries list: This video is not available in your country

The blocked videos has nothing to do with censorship in the countries like China and Pakistan where ISPs block access to some site following Government orders.

A touch to basics: Youtube examines the IP address of the user, find out the country the user is living in and matches it with the allowed countries list. If the country of user is in the list then the user can view the content else an error message stating that the video is not available in user’s country is displayed.

There are many solutions to overcome this restriction. Most of the solutions have worked in the past but works no more. The best solution that still works is: Using VPN.

Using VPN:

A VPN is virtual private network which provides secure data connection between computer systems. All the web services and websites use IP of VPN to route traffic to user PC. If the IP of the VPN is located in country that is in whitelist then the video can be viewed.

VPN offers access to different servers. VyprVPN is a VPN service that offers servers in the US and other countries to the Giganews Diamond account holders. Hotspot Shield and Project Loki are two free VPN services. You need to find VPN with servers in a country that is on Youtube video’s whiteslist.

If you are viewing Warner Music Group video from US, you may get following error message.

If you are connected to UK VPN you can watch the video without restrictions.

Virtual private network are great to watch, but the free VPN services are usually slow.

View Blocked Videos:

When uploading a video on Youtube, the user is provided with an option of making the video ‘private’, which means only selected users can access the video.

There are many tricks available for this, but most of them don’t work anymore. The best solution to this is to use the tools available on internet, where you need to enter the private Youtube video link and download it. Most of the tools provide downloads in .flv format, which requires the user to have FlashPlayer.

Écrit par melvinatkins1964 le 31 août 2010

Blackberry bold 9650 is another classic phone by blackberry. This phone is slightly more advanced then other models of the same phone. Having Wi-Fi support and more application memory, this phone becomes a good choice to make. This phone is an advanced model of old 9630 with more features enabled.

• This phone supports 512 Mb onboard memory and 2 GB media card.
• Optical Track pad is introduced for convenience.
• Support is available for different networks, e.g. UMTS, EDGE, CDMA/EVDO and REVA etc.
• This phone has a 512 MB Ram and 528 MHZ Processor.

Blackberry bold 9650 is basically a continuity to Bold tour by Blackberry. This phone has more responsive and reliable track pad. Just like other models it also has excellent display features. However the single sound port produces uneven sound. Camera of this phone is 3.2 mega pixels with auto focus and has 2 x digital zoom.
